Job summary

Roc Search seeks an experienced Utility/Public Works Project Manager to lead planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure in the Austin area. The role offers a highly flexible schedule with a minimum of two days in the office and hybrid work options.

You will serve as the primary liaison for municipalities and public agencies, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring projects meet quality, schedule, and budget objectives from concept through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain if required by role.
• 6+ years of experience delivering utility/public works infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience managing municipal clients and public-sector projects.
• Strong knowledge of Civil3D, public works standards, and capital improvement programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects from concept through construction.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Utility / Public Works Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects. This role will assist in managing projects from concept through construction, serving as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and internal teams while ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met. This position offers an extremely flexible schedule, with a minimum of 2 days in office.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage utility and public works projects, including water, wastewater, stormwater, roadway, and municipal infrastructure improvements
• Serve as the primary client liaison for municipalities, utility districts, and public agencies
• Oversee and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, designers, and subconsultants
• Review and approve engineering deliverables for technical accuracy and constructability
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards, funding requirements, and agency guidelines
• Identify and manage project risks while maintaining clear communication with clients and stakeholders (varies depending on PM experience)
