Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Prepare construction documents and site plans for development.
  • Perform storm water design, LID, and SWPPP analyses.
  • Model water/sewer flows and prepare engineer’s estimates.
  • Coordinate with clients, agencies, subconsultants, and internal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Support project management and delivery.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer passionate about land development to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will design, plan, and manage civil engineering aspects of site development and infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects ranging from individual site plans to large-scale subdivisions and master-planned communities.

Remote Work Option

Flexible remote or hybrid arrangements are available for qualified candidates (particularly those licensed or experienced in Arizona, California, or Nevada), with periodic in-person collaboration or site visits as needed. Candidates based in or near Phoenix, AZ, or Grass Valley, CA, are preferred for hybrid opportunities, but fully remote options will be considered based on experience and project needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare construction documents and improvement plans, including site plans, grading and erosion control plans, utility designs, roadways/driveways/trails, and related infrastructure.
  • Perform storm water quality design, Low Impact Development (LID), detention/retention analysis and design, drainage reports, and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs).
  • Conduct water and sewer flow modeling, engineer’s estimates, and related technical analyses.
  • Support project management and construction management activities; coordinate with clients, agencies, subconsultants, and internal teams (planning and surveying).
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, quality-focused team environment that values innovative problem-solving.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) required.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Arizona, California, or Nevada strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3–5+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering, preferably focused on land development, site design, and infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D (or equivalent) and other civil design software; experience with drainage modeling tools is a plus.
  • Strong technical design skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulatory processes in CA, AZ, and/or NV preferred.
