Responsibilities

Working with clients and engineering teams, the municipal engineer could be responsible for:

• Collaborating with municipal officials and personnel to determine and meet needs
• Attending public meetings as a representative of the municipal engineering team
• Conducting or supervising plan reviews for subdivisions and land developments
• Ensuring developments are constructed according to municipal approvals
• Managing and designing infrastructure projects such as roads, sewer, stormwater, water distribution, and parks
• Managing bid specifications and overseeing construction management
• Preparing and reviewing cost estimates, project proposals, contracts, and reports
• Managing clients and projects effectively
• Recruiting, mentoring, and developing junior engineers

Minimum Requirements

• Civil Engineers with at least seven years’ experience in municipal projects, preferably with a PA PE license
• Experience in client relations and business development
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D is preferred
• Willingness to attend evening meetings
• Valid driver’s license for site visits and meetings
• Ability to obtain PA Act 34, 114, and 151 clearances
