Job summary

The Oregon Department of Transportation is seeking a certified Professional Engineer 1 for Maintenance & Operations Project Coordination in Salem. You will act as ODOT’s general contractor and contract administrator, developing strategies to improve highways, bridges, and related infrastructure while prioritizing and delivering projects on time.

Applicants must hold a CE or SE license in Oregon or obtain one within six months, and possess a valid driver license. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Possession of a civil or structural engineering license in Oregon OR ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Driving is an essential function; valid U.S. driver license and acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements project development and construction strategy and workplans for statewide programs.
• Develops maintenance contracts for highway projects from scoping to close-out.
• Acts as project manager coordinating with agencies, vendors, internal crews, and FHWA on design and construction.
• Manage engineering authorizations and budgets to prioritize maintenance projects.
• Collaborates with regional teams, local agencies, and contractors to enhance community involvement.
