Talon Hiring Solutions is seeking Civil Engineers to support planning, design, and execution of infrastructure, industrial, utility, and site development projects in and around Birmingham, AL. The role emphasizes design, permitting, coordination with multi-disciplinary teams, and field support from concept through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3+ to 12+ years of civil engineering experience across infrastructure, industrial, utility, or large site development projects.
• EIT certification preferred for junior/mid-level candidates; PE license preferred for senior level.

Responsibilities

• Develop civil engineering designs for infrastructure, industrial, utility, and site development projects.
• Prepare site layouts, grading plans, drainage systems, stormwater management plans, and utility infrastructure designs.
• Perform hydrology, hydraulics, drainage, earthwork, and utility calculations.
• Develop construction drawings, specifications, reports, and engineering documentation.
• Support planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, and closeout phases.
• Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, environmental, and PM teams.
• Review survey, geotechnical, environmental, and permitting information for design development.
• Assist with permitting and regulatory compliance documentation.
• Review contractor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and construction documentation.
• Conduct site visits, field assessments, and project evaluations.
• Support construction activities and resolve field issues.
• Identify risks, evaluate alternatives, and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Contribute to standards and continuous improvement.
• Senior-level candidates may provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
