Qualifications

• Graduation from college with major in civil engineering and four years of highway or public works engineering.
• Registration as civil engineer in California at the time of appointment.
• Experience in land development, grading, drainage and stormwater runoff preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assigns work and reviews engineering problems for roads, buildings, drainage and other public works projects.
• Determines routes and grades for roads and computes earthwork quantities.
• Prepares final plans and maps; supervises detailed drawings and specifications.
• Writes technical reports and estimates for projects.
• Supervises design work and budget considerations.
