Job summary

Kimley-Horn seeks a Civil Engineer with 1.5+ years of experience to join the Land Development team. This role focuses on site development design, permitting, and coordination with diverse stakeholders. The position includes mentorship and exposure to plan production and project financials.

The team is relocating to our Walnut Creek, CA office by Q4 2026, offering opportunities to work across disciplines and manage client relationships on varied land development projects.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of civil engineering design firm experience.
• ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering (Bachelor's or Master's).
• California PE license preferred or plan to obtain within 36 months.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Perform site development engineering and project management for land development projects.
• Complete site civil design, permitting, and hydrology/storm drainage modeling using relevant software including AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Support bid packages, technical specifications, and client interactions.
• Coordinate with staff, mentor junior colleagues, and manage project costs.
