Job summary

Atwell, LLC is seeking a Civil Engineer to lead site planning and analysis across residential, commercial, and industrial land development. You will draft site plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D, review survey data, and prepare comprehensive reports to guide project direction.

The role emphasizes strong communication and collaboration with team members while supporting permit applications and related documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
• Minimum two years of related work experience.
• EIT preferred for the role.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterCAD, StormCAD and SewerCAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft preliminary and final site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Analyze survey data and review legal descriptions and easements.
• Prepare hydrology/hydraulic studies and cost opinions.
• Support construction with permit apps, cut sheets, and transmittals.
• Utilize Civil 3D and related software to complete assignments.
• Communicate effectively with staff across projects.

Job Description

As a Civil Engineer at Atwell, your role will be dynamic and multifaceted, including the opportunity to become a subject matter expert in residential, commercial, and/or industrial land development.

• Site Plan Excellence: You will be responsible for drafting preliminary and final site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, ensuring precision and adherence to industry standards.
• Data Analysis: Dive into project survey data to assess existing site conditions, considering various factors including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents.
• Comprehensive Reporting: Prepare a variety of reports, opinions, and recommendations crucial for project direction. This may include hydrology/hydraulic studies, due diligence/site analysis reports, engineer’s opinion of probable costs, project schedules, utility computations, detention/retention computations, storm sewer reports, local and state permit applications, stormwater reports, soils reports, earthwork volume calculations, StormCAD reports, WaterCAD reports, and preliminary grading.
• Construction Support: Offer valuable construction‑related services such as permit applications, cut sheets, quantity estimates, and transmittals. Organize site plans, construction plans, and construction documents under the guidance of senior staff.
• Engineering Software Mastery: Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software packages to complete assignments efficiently, ensuring alignment with established standards.
• Effective Communication: Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills when collaborating with current staff members, ensuring seamless project coordination.
