Job Summary
- Responsible for land development, residential, industrial, retail, mixed‑use, healthcare, educational and recreational design technical tasks including, but not limited to: conceptual site layout; utility design; roadway design; site grading design; soil erosion and sedimentation control design; floodplain studies; permitting and entitlement support; preparation of engineer’s opinions of probable cost; assistance with preparation of proposals; and construction support.
Accountability and Duties
- Prepares engineer’s opinion of probable cost.
- Maintains good relationships with clients.
- Prepares permit applications for applicable municipal agencies.
- Prepares feasibility studies, master planning and engineering, design of water, sanitary and storm sewer, paving and detention facilities.
- Assists in preparation of proposals for engineering services.
- Reviews and prepares project specifications.
- Assists in production of final construction drawings.
- Mentors and assists with training Civil Engineers.
- Delegates specific project components to Civil Engineers.
- Works closely with other disciplines on multi‑discipline projects.
- Responsible for project schedules and time completion of projects.
- Participates in business development activities.
- Represents the firm professionally at client and municipal meetings/hearings.
- Prepares and monitors project budgets, billing and assists with A/R.
- Performs any incidental duties related to the work described herein.
Required Certificates, Licenses, Registration
- PE License required.
- Valid driver’s license.
Qualification Requirements
- 6+ years of experience; AutoCAD Civil 3D experience.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four‑year college or university.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables.
- Outstanding writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
- Must be fluent in English.
Physical Demands
- Representative description of essential physical functions, with reasonable accommodations for disabilities.
- Frequent sitting, occasional standing, walking, handling tools; lifting up to 10 lbs routinely and up to 25 lbs occasionally; required vision abilities include sharp, distance, color, depth perception and focus adjustment.
- Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions for extended assignments.
Compensation
- Pay range: $85,000 – $135,000 USD.
