Job summary

Delve Underground in New York is offering a Civil Engineer Intern Co-Op for spring or summer 2027 to support tunnel and underground facilities for water, wastewater, and transit infrastructure projects. Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled college student pursuing Civil Engineering.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities for a multi-disciplinary team.
• Able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural design calculations for tunnels, shafts, foundations, and other underground structures.
• Support development of contract drawings and technical specifications.
• Prepare technical memos and supporting design documentation.
• Collaborate with civil, geotechnical, and hydraulics engineers on multi-disciplinary problems.
• Coordinate with AutoCAD technicians for plans, sections, and details.
• Communicate effectively with designers and construction management staff.

Civil Engineer Intern Co-Op

Delve Underground is seeking an Engineer Intern for spring or summer 2027 to support the delivery of tunnels and underground facilities for water, wastewater, and transit infrastructure projects. This position offers a great opportunity for a motivated, detail oriented, team-centric candidate to work on challenging underground engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of structural design calculations for tunnels, shafts, foundations, temporary excavation support systems, and other types of underground structures
• Assist with the development of contract drawings and specifications
• Assist with technical memoranda and other documents supporting the technical basis of designs
• Assist with civil, geotechnical, and hydraulics engineers in solving highly multi-disciplinary design problems
• Assist coordination with the AutoCAD technicians and other members of the drawing production team for the development of plans, sections, and details
• Communicate effectively with other designer and construction management staff
• Work on a variety of office and field assignments

Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled college student working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or similar program
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D programs
• Candidates should be able to multi-task and prioritize work, have strong communication skills and be able to work in a team environment
• Strong analytical and technical communication skills
