Job summary

Baird, Hampton & Brown in Dallas seeks a Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) to work on civil projects for municipal governments and private developments under supervision. The ideal candidate will work closely with Designers and Professional Engineers to create civil drawings and learn skills to become a licensed professional engineer.

The role emphasizes collaboration, learning, and contributing to project deliverables while developing technical and communication skills in a supportive team

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 0-4 years of experience in designing civil projects; municipal, roadways and utilities.
• Engineer in Training certification.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, and data to plan projects.
• Plan and design transportation or hydraulic systems and structures using design software.
• Prepare designs for stormwater, sewer, pipeline, parking, sidewalks, and roadways with design software.
• Prepare site grading and utility plans, coordinating with municipal parties.
• Communicate project status with the Project Manager, client, and other parties.
