Job summary

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers and Architects in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a full-time Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to support their Roadway group. Ideal candidates will have experience in Roadway Engineering and possess excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities include performing designs for highways and municipal roadways, supporting construction planning, and coordinating with various engineering disciplines. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and possess 0–3 years of civil design experience.

The hourly earnings range from $36.00 to $45.00, depending on experience. A comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Engineering Intern Certification required.
• Ability to effectively work with other engineers and technicians.

Job description

Our Phoenix, AZ office is seeking a full-time Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to support our Roadway group. The ideal candidate will have experience in Roadway Engineering. We are looking for someone with great communication skills who enjoys being part of a team environment. We are seeking a self‑starter with a high attention to detail that wants to work in a professional setting advancing their career in civil/roadway design. Additionally, you will collaborate with other project engineers, project managers, and support staff, as well as our clients, to ensure the successful completion of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic design of Highways and Municipal Roadways.
• Support production of construction plans and documents.
• Complete quantity take-offs and cost estimating.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines both internal and external.

Required Skills

• Strong work ethic and an understanding of engineering principles.
• Experience in CADD utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroStation; OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
• Proven teamwork and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite products including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Good intrapersonal skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to peers, senior staff, and clients.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related curriculum from an ABET accredited school.
• Engineering Intern Certification.
• 0–3 years’ experience in civil design.
• Ability to effectively work with other engineers and technicians.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation software is highly preferred.

Hourly Earnings

$36.00 - $45.00 (Depending on Experience)
