Job summary

Baxter & Woodman seeks a Civil Engineer III focused on Water Resources in Florida, with roles in Orlando or West Palm Beach. You will support municipal and private projects, develop stormwater models, and prepare drainage studies.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Civil Engineering, a Florida PE license, and 6 years of design experience, plus strong writing, teamwork, and travel willingness within the service area. AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in water resources preferred.
• Florida Professional Engineer license required or ability to obtain via reciprocity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with managing civil water resources study and design projects.
• Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models of stormwater systems.
• Prepare drainage studies and stormwater master plans.
• Design municipal/neighborhood improvements including stormwater facilities and detention basins.
• Address resiliency and climate change impacts in design.
• Prepare plans and specifications for construction.
• Perform quality control of stormwater models and reports.

About the role

Your Impact Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Civil Engineer III with an emphasis on Water Resources Baxter & Woodman works with municipal and private development clients on projects of all size putting the client and the solution first solving problems for people Come start your career and join our team

What your day to day will look like

• Assist with managing civilwater resources study and design projects
• Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models of stormwater systems
• Prepare drainage studies and stormwater masterplans
• Analysis and design of municipal neighborhood improvements including stormwater facilities open channels culverts storm sewers detention basins etc
• Address resiliency LID Sea Level Rise and climate change impacts in design
• Preparation of plans and specifications for construction
• Performing quality control of stormwater models reports andor design
• Permitting with local state and federal permitting agencies

Education & Certification Requirements

• 4 year BS degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in water resources engineering preferred
• Florida PE License required or the ability to obtain through reciprocity

Must haves what you will bring

• 6 years of experience in the design of civil projects
• Knowledge of basic principles of infrastructure design and plan preparation
• Expertise in hydrology and hydraulics
• Expertise with H&H modeling StormwiseICPR preferred
• Experience in consulting engineering public works or construction
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Strong verbal computer and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman service area own transportation
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred and ArcGIS is a plus

Compensation

The pay range for this role is 100000 130000 Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate including but not limited to skill set depth of experience and certifications
