Job summary

The Gloucester County Engineering Department seeks a Civil Engineer II to provide comprehensive engineering services for the County and Gloucester County Public Schools. You will lead projects from conception to completion, coordinating with County leadership, School division leaders, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative, compliant solutions.

You will exercise initiative and independent judgment, perform advanced engineering tasks, manage projects, and interact with engineers,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
3–5 years of civil engineering experience with project management.
Public sector capital projects experience preferred.
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required.

Responsibilities

Perform inspections of projects under construction for compliance with plans and specs.
Coordinate and review contractor work.
Research standards, analyze data, review drawings and contract specs.
Provide engineering services for County and Schools.
Support school construction, renovations, and site improvements.
Coordinate with school administrators, maintenance staff, architects, and contractors.
Direct technical engineering work and ensure regulatory compliance.
Prepare budgets and present reports to boards and officials.
