Job summary

State of Vermont, via the VTrans Materials & Research Section, seeks a Civil Engineer II to review and develop materials-related specifications and acceptance criteria. This role coordinates with internal staff and external stakeholders to support specification development and implementation.

The position also handles digital construction plan set components and maintains critical program documentation, ensuring alignment with Agency procedures and project delivery needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or related technical field with 2 years of engineering experience.
• Associates degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or related technical field with 4 years of engineering experience INCLUDING licensure as an Engineer Intern.

Responsibilities

• Review and revise standard and special specifications for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with Agency requirements and industry standards.
• Establish and evaluate material acceptance criteria and coordinate with internal staff and external stakeholders to support specification development and implementation.
• Support organization and delivery of materials-related components of digital construction plan sets.
• Maintain and manage key materials program documentation to ensure information remains current and properly controlled.
