Argus Companies is seeking a Civil Engineer II who builds on Civil Engineer I experience, delivering independent project tasks and applying engineering standards. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of relevant engineering experience in design and execution.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and standards.
  • Ability to work independently on routine tasks with guidance on complex assignments.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication for technical audiences.

Job description

The Civil Engineer II position builds on the foundational skills developed in the Civil Engineer I role, offering opportunities for greater independence and responsibility. Civil Engineer II's are expected to contribute to project tasks with consistent direction while continuing to refine their understanding of engineering standards and best practices. This role involves executing technical tasks, supporting small project components, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform design and layout tasks for fuel systems and site infrastructure, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Prepare and review designs, drawings, and specifications under the direction of senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate design efforts and resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, data, and correspondence.
  • Participate in internal QA/QC processes to maintain accuracy and quality in deliverables.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Civil Engineer 1 staff as appropriate.
  • Actively engage in continuing education to deepen technical expertise and knowledge of industry trends.
  • Utilize advanced engineering software tools, including AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam Revu, to support project designs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 2 years of relevant engineering experience, including exposure to project design and execution.
    • Proficient with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam Revu).
    • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and applicable standards.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently on routine tasks with guidance on complex assignments.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Possesses Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification.
WORKING CONDITIONS

The position primarily operates in an office environment with frequent travel to project sites, client meetings, and industry events.
