Job summary

City of Lexington seeks a Civil Engineer II in Lexington, NC to perform intermediate engineering work including planning, design, review, field inspection and administration for a variety of public infrastructure projects. This role coordinates with City departments and Utilities as well as state and federal agencies.

Working hours are Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm, with bi-weekly pay. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, have two years of progressive engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Two years of progressive experience in engineering.
• Engineer Intern Certification; valid NC driver’s license or can obtain NC license within 60 days; good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, review, and inspect public infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate with City departments, Utilities, and external agencies.
• Administer project activities to ensure compliance with standards.

The Engineering Services department presents a unique career opportunity as a Civil Engineer II. This position performs intermediate engineering work involving planning, design, review, field inspection, and administration work for a variety of public infrastructure projects. Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
• Two years of progressive experience in engineering
• Engineer Intern Certification
• Valid NC driver’s license or valid out-of-state driver’s license with the ability to obtain a valid NC driver’s license within sixty days of employment and good driving record

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. Paid bi-weekly.
