Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Civil Engineer with environmental experience to join our Environmental Services Global Practice’s team in Kansas City, MO, Omaha, NE, and nearby locations. The role includes leading or supporting civil and environmental designs, coordinating multidisciplinary projects, and mentoring early-career staff.

You will prepare design documentation, manage projects, and contribute to client relations and QA/QC processes while traveling up to 10% for site work and

Competenze

• ABET-accredited BS in Civil/Environmental/Biological Eng or related
• 3 years minimum environmental engineering experience (6 years preferred)
• PE license preferred; construction experience a plus
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS/CivilStorm

• Lead or support engineering teams to deliver high-quality civil or environmental designs for various projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary projects with different technical teams and levels of complexity.
• Prepare design documentation including criteria, letters, memos, reports, drawings, detailed design packages and cost estimates.
• Review and mentor early-career staff work products and provide technical leadership.
• Manage project scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety, and client expectations.
• Build and maintain client relations; participate in marketing, contractual, and design meetings.
• Champion QA/QC procedures and contribute to training programs.
