Our water and wastewater team works on diverse projects from inception through planning, design, and support of construction efforts. We are looking for a water/wastewater engineer to join us and execute planned projects, including rehabilitation of existing facilities and construction of first-service water and wastewater systems. You will work with city governments, federal agencies, and private corporations on challenging and rewarding projects.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Create detailed designs of water and wastewater treatment systems, collection systems, and distribution systems under instruction from the Project Engineer.
• Observe and document field and construction activities primarily related to water and sewer pipeline and facility infrastructure.
• Prepare plans, analysis, and study-level reports for water and wastewater systems.
• Determine design methods, equipment sizing and selection, and write technical specifications.
• Collaborate on and contribute to maintaining and building strong client relationships.

Education and Experience:

• Interest or experience designing water/wastewater treatment facilities.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
• EIT Certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
• AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently or with a multi-discipline team
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Physical Requirements:

• Ingress/egress from small planes, ATV use, cold weather resiliency.
• Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times.
• Willingness to travel to communities throughout Alaska with sufficient notice.
