Job summary

CRW Engineering Group, Inc. in Alaska is seeking a Civil Engineer EIT or PE (Water/Wastewater) with 0–5 years of experience to join our collaborative team.

You will work on water and wastewater projects from design through construction support, partnering with city governments, federal agencies, and private clients. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months, and proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Design water and wastewater treatment, collection, and distribution systems.
• Observe field and construction activities related to water/sewer infrastructure.
• Prepare plans, analyses, and study reports for water/wastewater systems.

Our water and wastewater team works on diverse projects from inception through planning, design, and support of construction efforts. CRW’s projects take us from Alaska’s North Slope to the US southern border and places in between. We are looking for a water/wastewater engineer to join us and execute planned projects, including rehabilitation of existing facilities and construction of first-service water and wastewater systems. You will work with city governments, federal agencies, and private corporations on challenging and rewarding projects.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Create detailed designs of water and wastewater treatment systems, collection systems, and distribution systems under instruction from the Project Engineer.
• Observe and document field and construction activities primarily related to water and sewer pipeline and facility infrastructure.
• Prepare plans, analysis, and study-level reports for water and wastewater systems.
• Determine design methods, equipment sizing and selection, and write technical specifications.
• Collaborate on and contribute to maintaining and building strong client relationships.

Education and Experience:

• Interest or experience designing water/wastewater treatment facilities.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
• EIT Certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
• AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently or with a multi-discipline team
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Physical Requirements:

• Ingress/egress from small planes, ATV use, cold weather resiliency.
• Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times.
• Willingness to travel to communities throughout Alaska with sufficient notice.
