Job description

Water & Wastewater Infrastructure Design
Professional Growth Opportunity | Path to PE | Water & Wastewater Infrastructure

Are you an Engineer Intern (EI) with water and wastewater design experience looking for the next step in your engineering career?

A growing engineering consulting firm is seeking a Civil Engineer (EI) to support the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

This role is ideal for an Engineer Intern who has developed a strong foundation in water and wastewater design and is looking to take the next step toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

You’ll work alongside experienced Project Managers and senior engineers on projects that help communities maintain, improve, and expand critical infrastructure systems.

In addition to developing your own technical expertise, you’ll have the opportunity to support and mentor developing engineers while building the skills necessary for future project leadership.

Why Consider This Opportunity?
Accelerate Your Path to PE

This position is designed for engineers who are actively working toward Professional Engineer licensure and are looking for opportunities to take on greater design responsibilities, gain project exposure, and continue developing as technical professionals. As your experience grows, you’ll also have opportunities to build the leadership, client-facing, and mentoring skills that support future project leadership responsibilities.

Work on Meaningful Infrastructure Projects

Water and wastewater systems are essential to every community. You’ll contribute to projects that support public health, environmental stewardship, and long-term community growth while working in a stable and growing sector of the engineering industry.

Gain Meaningful Client Exposure

Unlike some engineering roles where client interaction is limited, this position provides opportunities to work directly with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders. You’ll develop both the technical and communication skills needed to become a trusted engineering advisor and future project leader.

Develop Technical And Leadership Skills

As one of the more experienced EIs in the office, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with junior engineers, share your knowledge, and help support their development. This experience provides valuable preparation for future responsibilities as a PE, Project Engineer, and eventual Project Manager.

Proven Career Path for Long-Term Growth

This organization is committed to developing future leaders. Engineers have successfully progressed from Engineer Intern to Professional Engineer, Project Manager, Associate, Partner, and ownership roles within the firm. If you’re looking for more than just your next job and want a long-term career path with opportunities for advancement, you’ll find a strong foundation for growth here.
