What You’ll Do:

As a Project Manager, you’ll play a central role in winning, leading, and delivering stormwater and drainage related projects. You'll be backed by experienced hydraulic engineers, supported by fellow PMs and leadership, and empowered to grow both your career and your teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Spearhead and oversee stormwater and drainage projects from initial proposal through design, execution, and successful completion.
  • Build strong relationships with clients such as DOTs, local governments, and private firms.
  • Stay in line with industry trends, new tech, and evolving regulations.
  • Oversee project teams and ensure work is high-quality, on time, and on budget.
  • Guide and mentor junior staff, fostering a supportive and innovative team environment.
  • Drive business development and help shape the future of our group through hiring, process improvements, and strategic planning.
  • Represent Ayres in industry groups and at professional conferences.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • PE license in Colorado (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • At least 6 years of experience in stormwater or H&H related design.
  • Confident communicator with leadership skills and a proactive mindset.
  • Willingness to travel for projects and company initiatives.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Desired Skills and Experiences:
  • 8+ years experience managing H&H focused projects, especially with CDOT or Colorado Front Range agencies.
  • Master’s in Civil Engineering with focus on hydrology/hydraulics.
  • Familiarity with grants and permitting processes (FEMA, USACE 401/404, MS4), local regulations, and design standards.
  • Proficiency in design and modeling tools such as Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, StormCAD, PCSWMM, ArcGIS Pro, and similar software.
  • Passion for business development and building strong client relationships.
  • Enthusiasm for mentorship, teamwork, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
