Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Civil/Environmental Engineer in Englewood, CO to contribute to the planning, design, analysis, and oversight of diverse electrical, mechanical and civil systems. You will work within a design or review team and may lead less complex tasks while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, 5+ years' experience, and FE exam completion. Occasional travel and security clearance may be required.

  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance
  • In-depth knowledge using AutoCAD with Civil 3D
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory codes and standards
  • Working knowledge with hydraulics software
  • Designing site drainage and storm water control systems
  • Experience with underground utilities
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Ability to prepare civil engineering calculations and drawings

Responsibilities

Job description

Purpose and Scope:

Perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems and generally as a member of a design, analysis or review team on more complex assignments or as a lead on less complex assignments.

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision.
  2. Act as a lead on less complex tasks and responsible for a portion of a design or section of an analysis or design review.
  3. Generate complete design specifications of more complex projects.
  4. Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.
  5. Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.
  6. Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
  7. Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
  8. Conduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
  9. Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
  10. Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
Minimum Requirements:
  • US Citizen
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent education).
  • At least 5 years of job-related experience or equivalent
  • Passed Fundament of Engingineering (FE) Exam
  • Works independently and collaboratively with guidance and direction from others.
  • Good communications and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
  • Position may require travel.
  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

- In-depth knowledge using AutoCAD with Civil 3D.

- In-depth knowledge of regulatory codes and standards.

- Working knowledge with commercially available hydraulic and hydrology software.

- In-depth knowledge designing site drainage and storm water control systems.

- Working knowledge of the design of underground utilities.

- Working knowledge and expertise in Excel, and Word.

- Ability to prepare various civil engineering calculations and drawings.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Professional Engineering Registration.

  • Master of Science degree in civil engineering.
  • Government or nuclear experience, i.e., DOD, DOE, NR.
Compensation Details:

$95,000 - $135,000
