  • Working knowledge of Wisconsin DOT Facilities Development Manual, Wisconsin MUTCD, Wisconsin DOT Construction and Materials Manual, and Wisconsin DOT Traffic Engineering, Operations & Safety Manual.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 Applications.
  • Proven project management and data analysis skills. Ability to maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

WORK ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

Waukesha County’s Engineering Team is seeking a talented Civil Engineer to contribute to the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of transportation highway and bridge infrastructure. This role involves engineering problem solving, technical engineering application, teamwork, creativity, learning, communication, customer service and a fearless pursuit of excellence and public service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transportation project development, design and construction.
  • Project management and consultant oversight.
  • Develop and conduct environmental assessments for transportation projects.
  • Conduct cost estimates, traffic, and drainage studies for highway projects.
  • Assist in preparing the five-year highway capital plan.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university in civil or environmental engineering or closely related field. (December 2026 graduates eligible to apply.)
