PROFESSIONAL DRAINAGE ENGINEER
LOCATION: TUCSON, AZ

Summary of Position Responsibilities:

• Investigate watersheds using Rational Method, HEC-RAS, and/or Flow‑2D as appropriate.
• Prepare documents for submittal of CLOMR’s, LOMR’s and similar documents.
• Organizing and scheduling work to accomplish goals on projects within established budgets and timelines.
• Coordination with CAD technicians and other design team members specific to drainage design.
• Research and conform to applicable city/agency design guidelines, codes and checklists.
• Prepare drainage calculations and reports.
• Assist with preparation of feasibility studies.
• Resolve drainage related issues in the field and coordinate with plan reviewers on all matters related to drainage design.
• Coordinate with all disciplines involved (Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Structural), including outside consultants and contractors as needed.
• Establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications within discipline area.
• Participate in meetings with Customers and Owners to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value‑engineering ideas.
• Provide real‑time advice and decisions, technical in nature and cost estimates as needed to the project managers.
• Perform various other design tasks under the direction of others.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Civil Engineer in Arizona.
• Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering, hydrology, geomorphology or similar discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; 5+ years is preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in surface hydrology as related to land development. Experience in land development or site/commercial development is preferred.
• Proficiency with HEC‑RAS and Flow‑2D is required.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite is required, and a high adaptability to learning new software and technology.
• Ability to provide technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards to the client on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of construction plan preparation and details.
• Effective time‑management, written and oral communication skills, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Professionally perform multiple, detailed‑oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines.
• Ability to work both individually and with a team, give and take direction and go beyond your job description when needed.
• Solid writing and organization skills.
• Possess strong work ethic, attention to detail, and integrity.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
