Job summary

CJL Engineering, Inc. is a multi-disciplined engineering firm seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team in Johnstown, PA or Pittsburgh, PA.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of civil engineering design experience with a strong background in land development, stormwater management, and utility design. The successful candidate will prepare design drawings and specifications, develop stormwater and utility designs, and manage permit applications and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
• Engineer in Training Certificate or Professional Engineering License preferred.
• 5 years Civil Engineering Design experience with focus on land development, storm water management, and utility design.
• Experience with regulatory permitting and drawing preparation.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and design standards.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a project team.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design drawings and technical specifications including site grading plans, utility plans, and erosion/sedimentation control plans.
• Develop and design stormwater management systems and site utilities (water distribution, sanitary sewer, storm sewer).
• Prepare and submit permit applications to regulatory agencies; prepare cost estimates, technical specifications, reports, and other project documents.

CJL Engineering is a multi-disciplined Engineering firm with 6 regional offices seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team in Johnstown, PA or Pittsburgh, PA and support a variety of land development and civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in civil engineering design with a strong background in land development, stormwater management, and utility design.

Key responsibilities will include preparation of design drawings and technical specifications including site grading plans, utility plans, erosion and sedimentation control plans, develop and design stormwater management systems, design site utilities including water distribution, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems. Civil engineer will prepare and submit permit applications to applicable regulatory agencies, prepare cost estimates, technical specifications, reports, and other project documentation.
