A civil design engineer will be responsible for developing high-quality detailed design packages, providing engineering procurement and field technical support to implement those designs, and providing expertise for troubleshooting and technical assessments of plant facilities.
Candidate must effectively and cooperatively work as a team member of an integrated project team, or as a technical lead for a multi-discipline task and will routinely provide input to system engineers and other plant customers.
Candidates will routinely perform walk downs in the existing plant facilities to generate design documents and provide field support to craft personnel. This position will require technical expertise and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field of Civil Engineering.
Candidate will provide self-performed technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems through the application of established engineering practices, codes and standards. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to storm and storm drain designs and modifications, road design, soil evaluation, and oversight of outside engineering firms. Must be familiar with consensus design codes. CAD drafting experience is not required but preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees. Must be willing to work in a production environment.
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Light to moderate lifting may be required for packages and other items, ability to walk short distances, may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
