Job summary

R.E. Warner & Associates, Inc. seeks a Civil Engineer to work under close supervision on projects with clear objectives. You will perform routine designs, calculations and contribute to discipline-leading tasks on small projects.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Civil Engineering, has 2+ years of experience (co-op ok), knowledge of Civil 3D and Excel, and familiarity with surveying, site construction, and local design standards. Hybrid, full-time in North Olmsted, OH.

• Proficient in CAD operations and codes.

Responsibilities

• Prepares small calculations, designs, specs, or reports for review.
• Serves as discipline lead engineer on routine projects.
• May prepare drawings from own designs or sketches.

• Researches routine code issues.
• Mentors design staff and answers simple design questions.

Overview

Civil Engineer works under close supervision; receiving specific and detailed instructions as to required tasks. Performs assignments which have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. Supervisor screens assignments for unusual or difficult problems. Competent regarding most conventional aspects of the electrical engineering efforts on projects. Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications. May lead one or more small projects.

Pay Range: $75,000-90,000

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepares small calculations and routine designs, specifications and/or reports for checking and reviewing by others.
• Serves as discipline lead engineer on routine, single- and multi-discipline projects.
• May prepare the drawings of designs he or she has originated or from sketches provided by others.
• Assists in coordination of other discipline tasks with their own.
• Researches routine code issues.
• Assists in the education and development of design staff and acts as a resource for simple design questions.
• Maintains neat and organized work area to allow efficient access to project information required by other team members.
• Assists with whatever duties are required to deliver a quality project on schedule and within budget.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required, with specialization in Civil Engineering.
• 2+ years' previous experience (may have been as a co-op).
• MUST be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.
• Experience or proficient with Civil 3D and MS Excel.
• Working knowledge of surveying and site construction means and methods.
• Familiar with ODOT, city and county design standards as well as public and private utility design.
• Must have knowledge of applicable codes.
• Proficient in the use of computer for design and understand "CAD" operations.
