Job summary

Waldemar S. Nelson is seeking a Civil Engineer in Louisiana to lead drainage and hydrology design, including basin delineation and pre/post development analyses.

You will perform hydraulic design of drainage systems, sizing of surface and subsurface components, and detention/retention structures, while laying out roadways and integrating BMPs. The role requires familiarity with concrete and steel design in industrial contexts and the ability to lead junior engineers; relocation to South

Qualifications

• General experience in concrete and steel design.
• Background in industrial and petrochemical facility design.
• Comfortable leading design efforts and working with junior engineers.
• Residing in South Louisiana area or willing to relocate.
• PE desirable.

Responsibilities

• Drainage Basin delineation and hydrologic analysis, including pre- and post-development comparisons.
• Hydraulic design of drainage systems: sizing/placement of surface drainage structures (ditches) and subsurface systems; detention/retention sizing and flow-control structure design.
• Site layout and earthwork balancing with geometric road design.
• Selection and integration of stormwater BMPs into drainage systems.

  • design and sizing of subsurface drainage structures and systems
  • sizing/design of detention/retention structures
  • design and selection of flow control structures
• Site layout and earthwork balancing

• Selection and integration of appropriate/required stormwater BMPs into drainage systems
