Job summary

Fluor Corporation in Greenville, SC seeks a Lead Planner/Project Controls leader to direct the total Project Controls program on projects. You will implement WBS and project coding structures to ensure data integrity and convert estimates to the control system.

You will analyze variances, communicate findings, and lead cost reviews and profit/risk evaluations, while managing schedules and coordinating audits. Domestic travel to project sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering or closely related field; foreign equivalent.
• 12+ years of experience as a Lead Planner or similar occupation in construction.

Job description

• Develop, implement, and direct the total Project Controls program on projects or lead one of the Project Controls functions in a large project.
• Implement the Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures to ensure that data are converted correctly from the original estimate to the Project Control system.
• Analyze variances in cost or schedule performance against the plan, and communicate the reasons for the issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans to Project Management.
• Contribute to the proposal efforts for cost or scheduling activities. As Lead Cost review project profit recognition; provide evaluation of opportunities with management. As Lead Planner, manage project schedule including critical path activities and review schedule float for schedule slippages.
• Maintain working knowledge of the functionality of automated cost or scheduling management systems.
• Provide meaningful, accurate historical data. Participate in the supervision, development, and implementation of training courses and mentoring of Project Controls personnel.
• Supervise and manage the change management process.
• Manage the review of Project Profit/Risk Analysis with management and provide status reporting.
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.
• Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.
• Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Structural Engineering or closely related engineering field (or foreign equivalent) plus Twelve (12) years of experience as a Lead Planner or similar occupation in the construction industry.

OTHER:

Domestic travel required two times per year for projects/training in Greenville, SC and Alabama
