Job summary

All South Consulting Engineers is seeking a Civil Engineer for our Metairie, Gonzales, and Houma offices. You will lead municipal and civil design projects, including roads, drainage, water/sewer utilities, and site development using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

The role requires a PE license (Louisiana) or reciprocity within 6 months and 5–10+ years in civil design, land development, or transportation. You will mentor juniors and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, efficient

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Louisiana (or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months).
• 5–10+ years of civil design, land development, transportation, sewer, water, or drainage experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of municipal infrastructure including roads, drainage systems, water/sewer utilities, and site development using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Perform structural analysis and design for civil projects, including bridges, retaining walls, and foundations, adhering to AASHTO, ACI, and ASCE standards with seismic and load considerations.
• Manage permitting and ensure compliance with LaDOTD, USACE, FEMA, and local agency requirements.
• Conduct advanced calculations, modeling (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, WaterCAD, etc.), and drafting, while guiding team members.
• Oversee field visits, construction observation, and coordination with contractors and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with surveyors, geotechnical and structural engineers to optimize project delivery.
• Prepare reports, construction plans, quantity take-offs, and other key deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development through knowledge sharing.

• Technical Skills (Preferred but not Required): Proficiency in HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, ARC‑GIS, WaterCAD, or similar systems.
