Responsibilities

• Design minor roadways, parking lot layouts, and pedestrian access.
• Manage stormwater, drinking water, and wastewater designs.
• Prepare project narratives and analyses.
• Estimate construction costs and review progress inspections.
• Occasional in-state travel required.

Civil Engineer Duties Typically Include

• Potential site investigations including existing vegetation, soils, utilities, and road access.
• Interpretation of geotechnical data for analysis of ground improvement solutions appropriate to the project.
• Design of minor roadways and access drives, building sites, parking lot layout, and pedestrian access.
• Design of storm water management, drinking water supply, wastewater, solid waste, and hazardous material impact on design.
• Preparation of project narratives and written analyses of proposed design solutions.
• Estimation of construction costs, review of construction project submittals and progress inspections.
• Occasional in-state travel is required for site visits.

Desirable Attributes

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Licensed Civil Engineer (not required).
• Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Currently living in Alaska.
• Construction industry related work experience.
