Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. seeks an intern to support the design department by assisting with a variety of tasks, including research, layout, and documentation to gain practical experience.

The role offers exposure to architectural and engineering workflows, collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, and guidance from supervisors in an office setting. Preference for ABET-accredited civil engineering students.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in a related field.
• Full-time student currently pursuing an ABET accredited undergraduate degree in civil engineering.
• Coursework in a related field.
• Previous internship or relevant work experience.
• Familiarity with design and production software, with the ability to use these tools to develop project documents and collaborate with project team members

Responsabilités

• Assist senior or lead (architects, engineers, interior designers, project managers) with basic design tasks, including research, simple studies, and layout support
• Help prepare drawings and documents for programming, schematic design, modeling, graphics, design development, and construction phases
• Support the creation of presentation and marketing materials
• Assist with construction phase activities, including participating in site visits, supporting RFI responses, reviewing shop drawings, and helping update record drawings
• Follow established quality control procedures and ask questions as needed
• Learn and apply department and company standards and best practices
• Develop basic design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experience
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with team members
• Receive guidance and direction from supervisors and team leaders
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other multidisciplinary team members
• Perform other related duties as assigned
