Job description

GAI Consultants, Inc is seeking an EIT 2 to work within our Civil and Environmental Business Sector. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment that will utilize their related experience to develop professionally and grow in today's global environment. This position is eligible for GAI’s flexible Hybrid work schedules and a Sign-on Bonus.

Job Duties:

  • Plans, designs, and facilitates civil engineer project design tasks.
  • Undertakes technical and feasibility studies.
  • Collaborates with other professionals and discusses requirements with clients.
  • Uses computer programs to develop detailed designs.
  • Ensures that work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements.
  • Performs work under professional engineering staff.
  • Handles basic issues and problems but will refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Possesses working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and civil engineering design tasks.
  • Strong team collaboration, oral and written communication, design expertise, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • This position requires local/regional travel and should be expected to be 20-40% (1-2 days per week as needed for project-related work/occasional overnight travel).

Minimum Years of Experience:

  • 2+

Education:

  • B.S. or M.S. Engineering.

Certification/Licensure:

  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and obtained engineer-in-training (EIT) or engineering-intern (EI) certification.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Performs basic design tasks.
  • Assists on tasks such as field activities, material testing, CADD work, permit applications, and report writing.

Project and Task Management:

  • Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope.
  • No managerial responsibilities at this level.

Management Responsibility:

  • Receives close supervision on most aspects of assignments, particularly on difficult problems, and a general review of all aspects of work.
  • Receives mentorship from a licensed engineer.

Communication Skills:

  • Possesses basic oral and written communication skills.
  • Engages in few project stakeholder interactions.
