Job summary

V3 is seeking a Civil Designer III in Woodridge, IL to support the Floodplain and Stormwater Management Group. The role requires water resources experience, strong communication, and ability to manage multiple projects with internal and external clients.

Qualifications

• Degreed Civil Engineer with 3 - 5 years of related experience in Water Resources.
• Experience with CADD and GIS required; MicroStation preferred.
• EIT or ability to earn EIT is required.
• CFM or ability to earn CFM status is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Water resources and storm water analysis modeling & design.
• Preparing floodplain/floodway calculations and design.
• Participating in watershed, environmental, and wetland projects for private and public sector clients.
• Preparing reports, design plan sets, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Monitoring projects to ensure regulatory compliance, including construction site inspections for erosion and sediment control regulations.
• Assisting in water resources permitting.

Experience in site civil engineering, with an interest in water resource design, is desired. Qualified candidates must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills as the positions include interaction with both internal team members and external clients. In addition, candidates must be able to work both independently and, in a team, based environment and possess the ability to manage several major activities at once.

Key Responsibilities

• Water resources and storm water analysis modeling & design.

Qualifications

• Experience with modeling/ design tools such as HEC-RAS, TR-20, and XPSWMM are preferred but not required.
• EIT or ability to earn EIT is required.
• CFM or ability to earn CFM status is preferred.
• Basic understanding of federal, state, and local stormwater and floodplain permitting requirements preferred.
• Understanding of civil engineering technical design related to water resources, transportation, structural, or site development.
