Job summary

Alta Environmental & Infrastructure is seeking a production-focused Civil Designer to support land development and infrastructure across Arizona. This entry-level role is ideal for an EIT candidate or a designer with relevant experience working toward licensure.

You will prepare detailed civil plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, collaborate with survey and geotechnical teams, and develop designs for commercial, residential, and municipal projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 0–4 years of experience and EIT certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months), OR 5+ years of progressive civil design experience in land development or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare civil site plans, grading and drainage plans, and utility designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Assist in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and Hydraflow tools.
• Utilize Bluebeam for markup and review of design documents (preferred).
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and assist in preparing cost estimates.
• Review plans for accuracy, constructability, and adherence to company standards.
• Support the preparation of technical reports and construction documents.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality designs within project deadlines.
• Gain valuable experience working with a Professional Engineer to move towards licensure.
