Job summary

Kimley-Horn seeks a Civil Operator/Designer in our Boca-Delray, FL office with 8+ years of experience to join our Development Services team. You will implement drafting standards, develop technical drawings, and ensure quality control on complex plans.

In this role you will supervise CAD staff, mentor colleagues, and coordinate work activities to meet schedules while maintaining project quality. A strong foundation in Autodesk or Bentley tools is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant drafting/design experience.
• Associates degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• Proficient in printing/plotting settings.
• Strong communication and teamwork; willing to mentor others.
• Detail oriented with professional attitude and self-starter.

Overview

Our Boca-Delray, Florida (FL) office is looking for a Civil Operator or Designer with 8+ years of experience to join our Development Servicesteam!

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage drafting and plan preparation standards
• Develop technical drawings and plans
• The person in this position will make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity and may perform some multifaceted calculations
• Requires minimal supervision to perform day to day tasks
• Has knowledge of engineering principles and suggests design changes
• Maintains drawing database
• Will supervise and train CAD staff
• Coordinates work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control
• Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience
• High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree preferred)
• Ability to set up and manage printing/plotting settings
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Willingness to mentor and teach others
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter
