Job summary

Olsson’s team is seeking a Design Technician to support multidisciplinary design services across land development projects. You will work closely with technical staff to determine efficient CAD approaches and help develop plans, sheets, and related drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

The role emphasizes collaboration, ownership of tasks, and contributing to projects that improve communities. A strong CAD background and an associate degree in drafting are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assists with standard CAD operations including advanced plan production, plan sheet creation and entry-level design under moderate direction

• Obtains assistance on unusual problems and has work reviewed
• Performs engineering support tasks such as gathering data, updating and maintaining computer files, preparing copies of drawings, and documenting design changes

Job Description

Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for mixed-use, commercial, and residential land development projects, along with industrial, sports, schools, and other site development types. The Design Technician works closely with technical staff to find the best approach to solve engineering and design needs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists with standard computer-aided design operations including, but not limited to,advanced plan production, plan sheet creation, and entry-level design principles undermoderate direction and supervision.
• Receives instruction on project objectives, advanced features, and possible solutions.
• Obtains assistance on unusual problems and has work reviewed.
• Performs engineering support tasks such as gathering data, updating and maintainingcomputer files, preparing copies of drawings, and documenting design changes.
• May be required to work in all types of terrain and weather conditions and on projectsites in various stages of construction.
