Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a Design Technician to join our Building Structures team. This on-site role focuses on creating site plans and construction drawings using CAD tools and applying our drafting standards to projects.

You will contribute to drawings, maintain the drawing database, and learn Kimley-Horn’s practices while collaborating with engineers and designers in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, associates degree preferred.
  • 0 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products preferred.
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter.
  • Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Design Technician to join our Building Structures team in Alpharetta, Georgia (GA)This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • The person in this position will use basic computer drafting software to generate site plans and construction drawings for Kimley-Hornprojects
  • Designing and producing sets of plans; implementing and managing AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards
  • Assists in maintaining drawing database
  • Performs routine analysis to check accuracy of data
  • Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards
