Qualifications

• Understanding of codes and standards related to municipal infrastructure, ADA compliance, and transportation design.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills for engineering calculations and evaluating design options.
• Effective written and verbal communication for collaborating with project teams, survey staff, and clients.

Role Description

The Civil Design Staff Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Sioux Falls, SD. This position supports the design and documentation of civil engineering projects such as municipal infrastructure, transportation corridors, site grading, utilities, and drainage systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing plans and technical drawings using CADD software, performing design calculations, assisting with cost estimates, and compiling project reports. The role also involves coordinating with senior engineers, survey staff, and clients, reviewing field data, and helping with construction administration tasks such as plan revisions and design clarifications. The Civil Design Staff Engineer contributes to maintaining design standards, meeting project schedules, and ensuring that deliverables comply with applicable codes and regulations.

• Ability to work on-site in Sioux Falls, SD, manage multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail under project deadlines.
• Familiarity with GIS, hydrology/hydraulics software, or roadway design tools is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and eligibility to work in the United States.
