Job summary

ATC is seeking a Civil Design Engineering Intern to support the work of our Design Engineers and Designers. You’ll contribute to real-world utility projects while gaining experience in civil design and transmission engineering practices.

You’ll work with CAD tools (AutoCAD or MicroStation), organize engineering records, support documentation, and help translate field data into accurate as-built drawings under supervision.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering.
• Interest in utility design and infrastructure development.
• Working knowledge of CAD tools like AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• A valid driver’s license for occasional field visits.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and organize engineering records and data for design development.
• Participate in material procurement and support project design documentation.
• Assist in preparing detailed drawings and conducting structural analysis.
• Review and integrate field markups into finalized as-built drawings.
• Update asset databases and confirm field conditions to ensure design accuracy.
• Review external engineering consultant scopes of services for cost, schedule and project scope alignment.
• Occasionally participate in field work to verify design implementations.
