A leading vendor for energy projects is seeking an experienced Civil Design Engineer for a contract assignment supporting the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant in Spring City, TN. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and have at least 5 years of experience in nuclear power generation. Knowledge of TVA facilities is preferred. The role will include developing project plans, assessing engineering feasibility, and providing technical insights.

Civil Design Engineer - TVA Watts Bar Nuclear Plant

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a Tier 1 vendor for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), and we are recruiting for an experienced Civil Design Engineer for a 12‑month contract assignment supporting the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant in Spring City, TN.

Compensation

• W2 Hourly Pay Rate: Up to $80.00/hour
• Target Start Date: 11/10/25
• Duration: 12 months

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship is required.

Local or Regional candidates highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• DEVELOPS AND EVALUATES PLANS AND CRITERIA FOR A VARIETY OF PROJECTS.
• ASSESSES THE FEASIBILITY AND SOUNDNESS OF PROPOSED ENGINEERING EVALUATION TESTS, PRODUCTS, OR EQUIPMENT WHEN NECESSARY DATA ARE INSUFFICIENT OR CONFIRMATION BY TESTING IS ADVISABLE.
• PERFORMS AS A STAFF ADVISOR AND CONSULTANT TO A TECHNICAL SPECIALTY, A TYPE OF FACILITY OR EQUIPMENT, OR A PROGRAM FUNCTION.
• APPLIES INTENSIVE AND DIVERSIFIED KNOWLEDGE OF CIVIL ENGINEERING PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES IN BROAD AREAS OF ASSIGNMENTS AND RELATED FIELDS.
• MAKE DECISIONS INDEPENDENTLY ON ENGINEERING PROBLEMS AND METHODS AND REPRESENT THE ORGANIZATION IN CONFERENCES TO RECEIVE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS AND TO PLAN AND COORDINATE WORK.
• REQUIRES THE USE OF ADVANCED TECHNIQUES AND THE MODIFICATIONS AND EXTENSION OF THEORIES, PRECEPTS, AND PRACTICES OF THE FIELD AND RELATED SCIENCES AND DISCIPLINES.

Education / Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience in the field of nuclear power generation preferred.
• Previous experience with TVA nuclear facilities highly preferred.
