Job summary

Actalent in Ann Arbor, MI seeks a Civil Design Engineer to join a municipal and land development team. You will design site plans, prepare plan sets with Civil 3D and AutoCAD, and support field activities. Responsibilities span from concept to municipal approvals and permit documentation.

You'll work with project managers and engineers on diverse projects, with opportunities for growth toward project management in a small, collaborative office. Local travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• EIT or active licensure to take the EIT exam is preferred.
• 1–3 years in an office civil design role (co-op/internship OK).
• Proficiency with Civil 3D and AutoCAD is required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases from conceptual design to municipal approvals.
• Prepare site plans and complete plan sets using Civil 3D and AutoCAD daily.
• Assist with field surveying and construction observation when needed.
• Coordinate with project managers and design team for deliverables.
• Draft reports and documents for permits and regulatory approvals.
• Attend project meetings to review progress and assign tasks.
• Collaborate on residential, commercial, institutional, and municipal projects.
