Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC (QISG) is seeking a staff civil engineer to support large-scale energy substation and transmission projects across North America. You will contribute to civil site design, drainage, and permitting efforts under guidance from senior engineers.

The role focuses on civil design execution, coordination with multi-disciplinary teams, and delivering construction drawings and specifications on time and within budget. Office-based with occasional site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• EIT or FE certification with interest in licensure.
• 1–4 years in civil site design (intern/coop/entry).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Execute assignments using standard engineering techniques and criteria.
• Develop civil construction specifications.
• Support design for substations and transmission lines (layout, grounding, sites).
• Perform stormwater calculations for culverts, ditches, and ponds.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams (geotech, structure, GIS, etc.).
• Prepare written reports and communicate findings professionally.
• Work under supervision of engineers in a professional office setting.
• Occasional site visits across North America.
