Job summary

Mortenson in Nevada is seeking a Mechanic to perform onsite maintenance of heavy equipment. You'll be responsible for maintaining equipment performance through inspections and troubleshooting breakdowns.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience, holds a valid driver's license, and is customer-oriented with strong organizational abilities. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of experience in mechanic jobs.
• Basic computer knowledge/skill is required.
• Current driver’s license is necessary.
• ASE Certification is preferred.

Job description

Mortenson is currently seeking a Mechanic responsible for performing all functions required for onsite mechanic and maintenance of heavy equipment and general equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain shop equipment in a clean and orderly condition and report all deficiencies to supervisor
• Perform inspections to ensure tested and repaired equipment meet performance specifications
• Troubleshoot breakdowns of equipment to determine extent of damage or malfunctions
• Follow given operating instructions to maintain shop equipment operations
• Maintain supplies
• Call for repairs
• Perform regular preventive maintenance
• Complete and file all appropriate reports and paperwork
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• Willingness to travel per project needs and requirements
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of experience
• Basic computer knowledge/skill
• Current driver’s license
• ASE Certified preferred
• Strong teamwork orientation; detail orientation; strong organizational skills
• Active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
