Job summary

Watson Civil Construction, Inc. is seeking a Takeoff Technician to join our estimating team in Tampa or Jacksonville/St. Augustine, FL.

You will assist with accurate quantity takeoffs, data entry, plan review, and organizing estimating materials to support cost estimates for heavy civil and roadway projects. The role focuses on data entry, plan interpretation, and maintaining takeoff templates while collaborating with senior estimators to deliver reliable bids.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with civil construction plans and basic measurements.
• Experience with takeoff or design software is a plus.
• Strong organizational and data entry abilities.
• Effective communication and time management skills.
• Motivated to learn and grow in estimating.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret project drawings, specs and documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities and roadway items.
• Assist in organizing bid documents and project files.
• Input data into estimating and takeoff software (HCSS, Agtek, Bluebeam).
• Coordinate with estimators to verify quantities and material needs.
• Gather supplier and subcontractor quotes and organize data.
• Maintain templates and historical quantity databases.
• Learn estimating principles under senior estimators.
