The Civil Construction Survey Party Chief plays a critical role in overseeing and managing all field survey activities on civil construction projects. This position is responsible for providing accurate survey data, managing survey crews, and ensuring that all work is completed efficiently and in compliance with project requirements. As a Civil Construction Survey Party Chief, you will be involved in a variety of civil construction projects, working closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure precise project execution.

Civil Construction Survey Party Chief Job in Cincinnati, OH

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supervise and direct field survey crews on civil construction projects.
2. Perform accurate site surveys, including layout, staking, and as-built data collection.
3. Interpret and understand construction drawings and specifications to ensure survey accuracy.
4. Manage all survey documentation and provide reports to project management.
5. Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project goals.
6. Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards.
7. Operate and maintain survey instruments and equipment, including GPS and total station systems.
8. Train and mentor survey crew members to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
9. Troubleshoot and resolve any survey-related issues that arise during the project.

REQUIREMENTS

1. At least 5 years of experience as a Civil Construction Survey Party Chief or in a related role in civil construction surveying.
2. Proficiency in using GPS, total stations, and other survey equipment.
3. Strong understanding of civil construction projects and the role of survey in project success.
4. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
5. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with teams.
