Job summary

Smith & Company Inc. is seeking a Civil Construction Superintendent to lead large-scale site work throughout South Florida.

You will direct field crews, optimize daily production, and oversee earthwork, utilities, stormwater, and paving projects with top-tier equipment from a company established in 1983. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, interpret complex drawings, and ensure OSHA compliance while driving project success across residential, commercial, industrial, and government sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in civil construction, site development, or heavy earthwork.
• Proven expertise in earthwork, excavation, underground utilities, stormwater drainage, concrete, and asphalt operations.
• Strong proficiency in reading, analyzing, and executing civil engineering plans, specifications, and survey data.
• Demonstrated leadership capability managing multi-disciplinary field crews and subcontractors effectively.
• Valid OSHA 10 or 30 certification required at the time of hire.
• Hands-on experience using construction management software such as Procore or HCSS Field.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• 10 or more years of hands-on civil construction supervisory experience.
• Familiarity with GPS machine control technology and field layout methods.
• Background overseeing projects for FDOT, local municipalities, or major commercial site developments.
