Flippo Construction Company, Inc. in Forestville, MD, seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead civil underground utility and bridge projects in the DC-Maryland region.

You will plan, direct, and coordinate activities, manage budgets and schedules with look-ahead, and report costs and forecasts while maintaining clear communication with clients, regulators, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with PM experience and demonstrates strong

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with PM experience.
• Ability to manage 1 large or several smaller projects.
• Supervise multiple individuals (Project Engineers, Office Engineers, Project Assistants).
• Knowledge of contract law; negotiate change orders and subcontracts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Solution Builder; decisive with a sense of urgency.
• Proficient with Outlook, MS Word, Excel; scheduling software such as ProCore, Primavera, HeavyJob, Viewpoint.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate all activities for the projects assigned to ensure objectives are accomplished within prescribed funding and scheduling parameters.
• Monitor/control project budgets and schedules, incorporating a 2-3 week look ahead.
• Prepare and report project costs, progress, and forecasts.
• Establish and execute project work plans.
• Maintain open communication while building rapport with client, regulator, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit pay applications, RFIs, POs, submittals, change orders, claims, and other communications.
• Coordinate with General Superintendent on allocation of shared resources.
• Represent the company at required project meetings or hearings and prepare documentation.
• Review drawings and specs for constructability, completeness, and accuracy.
• Coach, mentor, and ensure training needs of subordinates are met.
• Ensure on-site compliance, safety, and work rules are followed.
