Job Summary:
We are looking for a Project Manager who lives our core values and vision, leading our field crews to greatness and building lasting relationships with our partners.
The Field Project Manager will oversee and coordinate various civil construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that schedules and budgets are met, while supporting, coaching, and providing guidance to Project Superintendents. The Field Project Manager will oversee and facilitate the Owner/Client partnership in the field. This position is full time and 100% travel within the central United States.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead by example in a way that reflects our company culture and core values.
- Oversees a team of superintendents to ensure projects are completed to specification, on time and on budget.
- Determine needed resources including but not limited to manpower, equipment, and materials from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
- Manages each subcontractor to ensure that work meets quality standards and adheres to specifications.
- Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Schedules and coordinates projects for efficiency and quality.
- Regularly communicates with clients concerning budget, schedule and quantity tracking.
- Ensures adherence to the budget and, when unexpected complications or issues arise, makes quick and necessary adjustments.
- Supports the superintendent in coordinating project needs and manpower and assists in directing day to day field activities as needed.
- Ensures safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in construction.
- Coordinates and communicates with the team regarding contract revisions, and additions and adherence by all parties.
- Collaborates with clients, supervisory staff, subcontractors, and engineers to discuss and resolve challenges.
- Manages and leads actions that are necessary due to delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites.
- Develops and maintains good working relationships with all involved parties.
- Builds and maintains long-term relationship with key vendors and subcontractors.
- Performs accurate project and budget tracking.
- Issues One Calls and keeps them up to date.
- Makes sure all Submittals and RFIs for the project are submitted and tracked for project compliance.
- Work with Project Engineer on project specifications, Submittals, RFIs, Change Orders and Quantity Tracking.
- Oversee multiple crews/projects as necessary.
- Participates in scheduling crews and evaluates manpower needs.
- Collaborates closely with the Director of Project Management to provide updates on work in progress and support strategic forecasting for active projects.
- Works closely with the Director of Project Management to prepare and verify accurate monthly billing.
- Has knowledge with Topcon/Trimble GPS
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 3-5 years of civil experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
- Procore experience .
- Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations.
- Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
- Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems.
- Thorough understanding of engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to be professional in any situation.
- Ability to be a team player with leadership capabilities.
- Must be comfortable delegating tasks.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
- Travel is required.
- Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
- Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.
